Seasons Change and So Must I

Autumn Leaves Blowing Pictures, Images and Photos

I watched the rustle in cool autumn's leaves
Once shed like ragged remnants summer cast---
Bright oranges, yellows, reds, and in-betweens,
Small tokens of a soon-forgotten past.

A whirlwind stirred high piles just freshly raked
With hands invisible to human eyes
As, from their places, chosen fragments leaped
To dance across fall's ever-changing skies.

On breeze's crest, leaves paused, corrected steps
To taste for just a moment autumn's kiss
Before the fickle wind began its shift
And made my task of raking hit-and-miss.

Within sweet autumn's breath, a whisper stirred;
My heart absorbed intently ev'ry word.

Sharon, Love this piece. It reminds me of the poem on leaves by Robert Frost. The visual image this produces is incredible. Great write. Can't wait for more from you.
