Pathogen

Pathogen

A Poem by Relic's Bare Trees

I've no desire for sunshine.
Of late my sleep's been crude.
My weakened will thrives to endure
The lack of emails viewed.

Youtube has me kidnapped.
Though eyes burn still i scroll.
The aspects of a screen's blue light
Can really take a toll.

Scarcity's hand feels empty.
My phone has filled the gap.
I doubt i'll leave the house to shop
As long as there's an app.

One look turned to compulsion.
I've wrestled to resist.
But an instant gratification
Grabbed me by the wrist.

He told me to subscribe.
He said to smash the like.
I've often wasted precious time
To heed my impulse spike.

The floor is getting filty.
My peace of mind's in doubt.
Perhaps one day i'll take to each
When the power grid goes out.

This thumb slide screen addiction.
Has hacked my dopomine.
To love a flush red fragrant rose
It must be on my screen.
.
I know an aesop's fable,
Especially its end.
'One man's pleasure's another man's pain'
What say you - my friend?

I admit I am addicted to the internet. I am just glad I didn't have that technology as a kid. because I have great memories and truely lived.
