Black Sheep

Black Sheep

A Poem by Playaz

Do you know the emptiness of being the black sheep?
Continuously excluded, they tell you it's just a coincidence...
You start rationalizing everything that once mattered
You hear their humiliating laughter, deafening, like empty silence

Wished upon a shooting star, spiraling straight to the depths of hell
You didn't foresee this reality, still waiting to awake from this nightmare
It seems to be deja vu, but something's different this time, that's for sure...
Maybe I'm justifying irreparable emotional pain
Time and sanity I'll never be able to regain...

I fear I've been suffering through one of the worst blizzards imaginable
I knew this was going to happen, I felt the chills running through my veins
It's twisted, and that's the greatest understatement yet

Trust me, I don't think you'd know what to do if we were to trade shoes
I just want life to be what I once knew it to be, filled with blissful ignorance I finally realize.
My childhood had escaped me, and I never quite grew up.... .
I guess you could say I've been stuck in a state of purgatory
Ever since I turned 18.
