A Poem by Tori Jones

Time is something we must hold dear
It's something one cannot see
Nor even hear
Something precious and valuable
Not something to be careless about

So I warn you to never waste time
But to hold your loved ones close
And your enemies even closer
For you cannot predict or suppose
What is going to happen
For only God knows
The time and place
Yet keeps track of no mistakes
But instead chooses to forgive us
No matter how long it takes
For us to find him
Even if the chances are very slim
Where there's a will
There's always a way

With time you'll never comprehend
What could happen in even a second
For only the holder of time understands
Why things must stay
And why things must go

Never try to control time
Or abuse its powers
For if you are not watching closely
And counting the hours
A dearly beloved person
Could be taken away
Thus the reason we should always say
What we need to say
Before comes the day
When we are all taken away
Those who remain
Will be soaked in tears
But those who leave
Will be rid of fears
For they will be
In the house of God
The sanctified place
In which the angels trod
When someone does wrong
They will sob
When someone is saved
They shall cry out in delight
For that person has found
A true light worth the time
That stretches all bounds
And never fails to astound
For he has spent his days
And succeeded in many ways

Cherishing every moment
They find
True happiness
For they have
Made use of their precious time....
