Ode to Ocean Blu

Ode to Ocean Blu

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Ocean Named Blu

(Ekphrastic)

Ocean Blu upon a pleasant day,

Young tides crashing against solid rocks.

Your vastness stretches beyond what eye can see,

A beauty marked in time.

Seagulls come skipping through your waters,

As do other birds who swoop in

To sit upon the rocks…

A respite from soaring the heights.

Ocean Blu, the sky’s as blue as you!

The richest of colors captured by the Artist’s paintbrush,

Gracefully using light blue to slowly morph into a deeper blue.

A sight to behold in the purest of splendor,

How mesmerizing to the eye!

The sun, oh, the sun…

How it sparkles upon your waters

As diamonds dancing atop your welcoming surface.

Marshmallow clouds suspend just above,

Appearing heavy and weightless at once.

Ocean Blu, radiant in wonderment,

You delve into your truth.

Your wealth vast,

Ever moving in your tide.

Keeping alive

Your glorious waves.

Ocean Blu, does the sky mirror you?

Or do you mirror the sky?

I never do this, but I'm going to stick my neck out & offer a title idea: "Ode to Ocean Blu" becuz this sounds like a lyrical ode of worship. Nice job of injecting your poem with a ton of powerful dynamic imagery (((HUGS)))

I loved the poem dear Melinda. The sea is my favorite place.
"Your glorious waves.
Ocean Blu, does the sky mirror you?
Or do you mirror the sky?"
The above lines. A perfect ending dear friend and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
