Dear Andrew

Dear Andrew

A Poem by Punkgyrl3
"

Inspired after a Jack's Mannequin concert...

"

You sit at the piano

A couple feet away

I close my eyes and take a breath

Then you begin to play

The music starts to fill the air

The sound swirls all around

A smile spreads across my face

Just one face in the crowd

Many times I’ve heard the notes

I know the words by heart

Your fingers press the ivory keys

You share with me your art

With each line you pull me in

I can’t help but to feel

As if you wrote the words for me

For only me to hear

The drummer pounds a rhythmic beat

My feet jump off the ground

But when you slow the music down

There’s silence all around

I can’t tell you how I feel

Or what your music means

An emptiness inside me filled

I show you with my screams

When the speakers quiet down

As it’s coming to a close

It seems like just a moment passed

Since the music began to flow

You pack your bus and drive away

Until next time dear friend

I’ll keep your music playing loud

Until we meet again.

you have really good wording. you could make amazing poetry about deeper things like romance or depression. you should give it a try...your words have such depth
