Mermaid's Sailor

Mermaid's Sailor

A Poem by Raven Hawthorne

goodbye kisses a deadman's dream,
in her tresses i leave wishes and hopes cast,
forevermore,
i worry and i wonder but you're pride has slaughtered,
all my care and brimming starlight cast to the shore.
let the sailor far from home,
be let safe,
nevermore.
As his heart is hung in moonlight,
and the dewy light reflect,
the webs of lies, the sailor dies.
sea foam covers up his grave.
There the oceans daughter, in here moonlight gown adorn,
will see the body of a loved one,
blue and bloated, lifeless form.
in the twilight of their meeting,
in the dewy morning season,
she was left, and he was bleeding,
now is settled.
Evermore.
