Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Robin
"

in between

"

a black-winged dove

hovered near the moon

as a fist thundered through the wall

she was sinking into her tears

feeling the barbs from her pillow of dreams

twisted shadows taunting

drunken echoes

in this endless night

and how she could feel them

a million eyes , staring

outside her broken window

there , down there

in the streets , those dirty streets

away from their beds

sleepless

'and how she could feel them

a million eyes , staring'

quite brilliant in its effect, we are drawn into her nightmare vision with an intense and very immediate flow of images. i loved the way you broke up the flow towards the end with a change of rhythm, the last word light in texture. stunning!

this is like the sleeplessness that we feel not at night, but when our soul is troubled and we are caught in the vortex of the madness that IS and that sends us running for cover

I can read your artistic quill over and over again, it so gets me, this is such a painful truth, of how it can be in the lonely streets, nice point of view, not afraid to show the world some truth. I appreciate. Excellent as always.

Dark as Gotham, and sadly, a story that plays out all too often.
I love how you write with no boundaries. You are a master craftsman.
