SLUDGE AND SUNLIGHT

SLUDGE AND SUNLIGHT

A Poem by Rene Velez

the consistent knocking
cold damp rainy air
entering the fly screen window
morning mocking
with unknown bird calls
eyes opening
leaving desired realms
scratching the door
dogs want out
returning, yearning
for chicken treats
a one mile walk
coffee on the horizon
sludge and sunlight
for the remainder of the day
then back to my desired death.

This has great colors and sensations, you have defined your objective perfect, the flow in images fragmented, yet strung together like wind chimes, have me wanting to see and hear where this "SLUDGE AND SUNLIGHT" goes, and what is the night like in this environment you have painted so well...

Very nice; love the unique title, and the details in the words. I especially loved this part here:
"scratching the door
dogs want out
returning, yearning
for chicken treats
a one mile walk
coffee on the horizon
sludge and sunlight
for the remainder of the day
then back to my desired death."

Lately I have found sleep a welcome escape from the escapade of war and politics invading my everyday life.walking the dog through the sludge is even a welcome diversion to reality.

I love this. Such a beautiful way to describe an early morning. I love these lines: "sludge and sunlight for the remainder of the day then back to my desired death." Beautiful write my friend!

Ever feel if you sneezed and woke up in the middle of the night that nothing else would EVER be the same again?

Artwork create a bad vision. The words led me to many places. A lot of hidden story in the words. Thank you for sharing you excellent poetry.
