The Boiling Man

The Boiling Man

A Poem by Joseph - Michael
"

There was a time when I fell so hard on my knees and I was only 17 when I wrote this. Years later, it's still taunting me, even in my sleep.

"

Shh, Listen...   There's A Man...   Playing An Unusual Violin...

With The Strings That Are The Nerves...   And The Veins...   From His Own Arms...

How Wonderous The Sounds...   Of The Agonies Made...   By The Slicing And Dicing...

Down With The Lambs...   Up With The Larks...

Run To The Beds, Children...   Before It Gets Dark...

Around, Around The Sun We Go...   As The Moon Goes Around Us...

While The Parts Of Us Are Dying...   In The Slow And The Painful Ways...

We Do Not Die Of Death...   We Die Of The Vertigo...

Run, Dying Breeds, Run...   Like There's No Time...   And No Tomorrow...

Yet, We're All Still Gonna Die One Way...   Or Another...   No Matter What...

And I Just Saw The Dead...   Small And Great...  Stand Before The God...

I Witnessed The Blood Of The Christ...   Dripping On All Of Their Skins...

This Is Just Another Altar...   Inside The Church...   Of The Fears And The Pains...

Now, I Know Why Jesus Wept...

This i found to be a unique read. It's different format cause my mind to spin around alot like the images that you presented.
I liked how it was heart felt. The feelings of dispare and helplessness, seemed to fling out like and open blender.
Good read!

You know I read this yesterday, but didn't review it. There is something about it that draws the reader in. Thought I could pinpoint it, but I've read it numerous times, and I can't. You have a unique writing style.

This section here keeps bringing me back. "Oh, How Wonder The Sounds... Of The Agonies Made... By The Slicing And Dicing..." I don't know why, but when I read it, wonderful pops into my mind, but the ful is not there. For some reason I can not escape it.

I did like the set up of this piece, straying from the normal stanza's of poetry. It does make you stop and think, and that is a good thing in my opinion.

Definately... singular. I don't think I've encountered a piece quite like this one. The flow and format are very interesting. I'm not so sure I understand all of your metaphores but I still rather enjoyed this. Send me read requests as your work facinates me. (please forgive spelling errors)

"We Do Not Die Of Death... We Die Of The Vertigo..." A sad, and dark poem of death and pain. Beautifully written and put together. Inspiring piece of work here. XX

nice work. Reading it I had the image of something going around and around spiraling. I like that it is a relatable darkness, if that makes any sense. I also like the form you chose.
wonderful work!

Interesting piece I liked it thanks for sharing.

We Do Not Die Of Death... We Die Of The Vertigo...
Run, Dying Breeds, Run... Like There's No Time... And No Tomorrow...

Those lines just struck me, I loved the sentiment behind them.
