Dead Set On Destruction

Dead Set On Destruction

A Chapter by Timothy Ryan

I see it in your eyes and I can't hold back the devastation that runs
wild through my thoughts, stampeding anything in its way. Girl, women,
angel or devil; that's the type of beauty that ruins a life. It hurts to
look at, it hurts to be near and, Jesus Christ, it hurts to think what
I'd do for it. The bones and guts of who I am crack and crumble to a sly
smile and look in my direction. I can't stand it, I can't hold back;
I'll tear anything down that's in the way. A life of promise and
independence, ready to be pummeled for the sake of bliss. Smash the
walls of vulnerability, open up the gates of best kept secrets, throw
away the values you swore an identity to and let it all die. My heart's
transfixed, waiting and ready for you; dead set on destruction.
