Linger

Dedicated to the love of my life.

 

As I think of you and me

I stop to look across
the placid water and
the quiet lulls my thoughts
into a slow state.

I linger in a feeling

and savor treasured memories,

and my head spins
with dulcet images
in lost reverie.

I notice that it is the shore
that gives boundary and definition
and it’s that boundary

that gives the water depth.

 

I’m reminded of
that brief moment in between
now and yesterday where
the desperate heart
yearned to feel.

Where I dreamt of
serendipitous tomorrows
floating into the silky lagoon
of my loneliness.

 

I only needed a simple ripple
to move me in this place,
to know your sultry touch
on the fabric
of my gossamer reality

I was carefully looking on how you structured your every poem,
okay I knew it, the technique is called enjambment. You are really
effective in using this style and I must say, I love your poems for this...

Haha, I believe it is legal.
And admirable, you are penning with this style without
knowing the conventions at all, but every poem
is eloquently written with very intense emotion
yet every piece is delivered in a calm manner.
I have to confess, I have been studying how to
pen following this technique and I am glad I did it,
but I think not as effective as you. Check my Painless Slumber...
