Fairies of Autumn

Fairies of Autumn

A Poem by Risha
"

a couplet about, well the title says it all.

"

The Autumn fairies drawing near

their shining bells I hear

They come in carriages of acorn

their tunes far from forlorn

The queen and princess a rare sight

their looks bring much delight

Wings more brilliant than the sun

sparkle like a trophy won

Fall dresses woven from rare silk

smooth to the touch as milk

Their physical features purely feminine

hands as delicate as porcelain

Coating the leaves with vibrant paint

their color no longer faint

Reds, yellows, and oranges cover the wood

reminders of our sweet childhood

Great songs and dances to a lively flute

then a feast of berries and root

* * *

Then the frost is setting in I fear,

winter’s drawing near
