Whispers

A poem about the tangled webs we humans can weave with our self doubt.

Whispers in the dark,

They draw me to a place of doubt.

When will I escape?

I tell the voices to quiet,

But louder and louder they get.

They deafen me with their screams

As I struggle to break free.

No one can come and rescue me from myself.

Sorry it took me a while to get to this I was a little back logged with request. This definitely worth the read. We to often feel this feeling being trapped by ourselves and the thought we can not escape that which we are. i felt an entangled with the words as if you were read my own thoughts. That is always such an impressive thing to bare witness to, to have writer write something that feels as if it is a part of you being exposed upon the page. That in itself is a wonderful treat but to have it mingled with such a flowing power of visually clarity is breathtaking.
