Dream Stealer

Dream Stealer

A Poem by Roxie Martelli
"

This is a funny poem that I wrote one night after a intruder bothered me from my sleep.....

"

My own personal stealer of dreams

The drone of the Air
I'm not here
The drop of the faucet
I'm not here
Slowly fading away
into a subconscious state of soft illusions
warmth of my mental
twilights slip over me
as I fade
as I slip
into a sweet embrace

A jolt, sudden quick
claw's pin themselves
into my shoulder
my eyes open
I am awakened by
a lion
a stealer of dreams

my cat can be rather annoying if I do say so myself. But she's oh so adorable! If I could draw I would SO make a chibi of this moment. haha

:D Cats! I adore cats, m'dear. Now, I did like this poem--it was cute. It's prose, so I don't have to comment on any rhyme schemes (Thank you for that, I add!). However--your flow seemed a little off. Prose is meant to seem one full entity, but this poem seems like several thoughts made for boxing thrown in with old people on crack.

...There was a more professional way to say that but my insane mind cannot grasp it. (Sigh.) If you work on the flow, I think it'll be beautiful, dear. ^^ Well done!

Keep Writing.

A delightful piece of prose, I enjoyed the story you tell. As I have two cats who delight in dragging me from my slumber I know exactly what you mean. Couldn't you just kill them when it happens at 5am. Haha

I'm not quite sure what a chibi is; but if you cannot draw have you thought of taking a photo of your lion then printing the words on top. I like to do this with some of my poems.
