Overseas

Overseas

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

No matter how far a person can go the horizon is still way beyond you. Zora Neale Hurston

"

They’re sailing further overseas

thoughts sent away

in a handful of white

now and then

the wind is whispering

some of the words

and the waves are rumbling

through the verses

so far

so wide

so wild

I suspect them tomorrow

at the horizon

in the wave breakers

stranded on the beach

hear

how their rhymes rustle

in the shells

and on the sand.

Another wonderful piece in this series. Another piece that I can completely envision the surroundings described. This makes me want to go to a beach and enjoy the breeze. I've always loved the water and seeing how far it stretches, etc. Thanks for sharing this with me, Rudi :)

Rudi: Another lovely poem - my imagination swells when I read poetry, the visual impact of this poem is beauty. All the echoing sounds at the seashore, and it makes me think of the first time I picked up a shell to listen for the sounds of the ocean, the white waves, tumbling out to sea, intertwining with all those lost souls, you never know what words they could return with. No? So far, So wide, So wild...hear how the rhymes rustle: I do wonder what they say. Great writing. Thank you. Dale
