So Many Moons

So Many Moons

A Poem by C.N.Moore

So many moons have risen since then,

a dark moon lit night, I play it again and again.

These wings they fluttered so quickly so strong,

beating like angels and you were their song.

The moment my eyes caught that first glimpse,

my heart became yours " without you it limps.

I've never mentioned it for fear of retort,

but your soul is familiar, I've known it before.

From the first time your lips lay atop mine,

I was addicted, and you were my line.

Those hazel eyes, so big.. so true,

definitive of your heart, and all that is you.

These tears gently slip from my eyes,

more hopeful now than I've been all my life.

What once seemed a silly boys dream,

is so close a reality I burst at the seams.

So many moons have risen since then,

and I am luckiest of all the worlds men.

For when I sleep it is you who I see,

dreaming of all the adventures to be.

With each new mornings sun that I wake,

I reflect on the memories we've yet to make.

There is a fire that lives in us all,

most work so hard to build up a wall.

To hide what it is that this flame can portray,

yet yours burns so bright - speaking words you do not say.

Once upon a time my walls were so tall,

your flames they engulfed me and my walls they did fall.

A fortress no fire has ever been to reach,

in one moon lit night your fires they did breach.

Now more than ever I hurt for your touch,

"Te Amo Mi Amor" I love you so much.

So many moons have risen since then,

with you in my arms we'll watch them again.. and again.
