Tag, You're It

Tag, You're It

A Poem by Sarah

I don’t like them fancy clothes

I do my shopping at Second-Hand Rose

Faded boots and a worn out hat

High pumps, diamond rings, ain’t all that

Talking about how life goes

Happy or sad, we raise a toast

Shedding tears or laughing out

We all have something to talk about

Sharing music and seeing fans

Makes me wanna change my plans

Magic is playing a song

With everyone singing a-long

Tag You're It

Tag You're It

Crammed my stuff into a bag

Feelin' like I'm playin' tag

Mile after mile, again and again, night after night, place to place

Two steppin' in the bars

I never thought I'd get this far

You pass by and wave a hand

Then, I'm back on stage with the band

I’m headed off to the show

Fired up and ready to go

It’s not about the spotlight

Let’s just have some fun tonight

Sharing music and seeing fans

Makes me wanna change my plans

Magic is playing a song

With everyone singing a-long

Tag You're It

Tag You're It

Hi Sarah, I love this and feel myself in the first verse. There is a sense of freeing acceptance for ones self in your words. A beautifully melodic playful truth, this would be great to hear spilling from my speakers kick back with my family and friends a few beers laughter and food....happy sigh, playin tag never sounded so good. Cheers Starz

.....never would have guessed that to be your voice - brava! This is what I was talking about when I had mentioned way back when that the music helps understand how the lyrics flow. Rock on! I especially loved the first two verses and the chorus. Those really hit it home! Well done!

Has a bit of Dolly parton to it, I like it. Well done.

Ah, nice to compare this lifestyle to a tag game. Everything happens so hetically and we only pay attention on one thing; the tagger. I wonder who that it in here. Very thoughful!

I enjoyed the poem. I could feel the song in the words. Good to love the song and be happy with what we need. Nice flow of thoughts led to very good ending. Thank you Sarah for sharing the excellent poetry.

these lines're one of my fav. very catchy, & captivating as well. you come to bleed in things that life shows you. yes, it's true, when we have a great loath of fan-followings, we seem to get ourself more inspired by having 'em all around, & chanting for our name. it makes us moving more ascend, and that's what success's all 'bout, cos half of the world has spent half of their in doing nothing but shopping around, but some have done realistic things that.. makes 'em all "playing" around. very nice imagery here!
