Keep the Peace

Keep the Peace

A Poem by STAND.STILL
"

Written in about 20 seconds, overwhelmed with the need to impress.

"
Negative energy flows through
The very tips of my fingers…
As I type, write… lie?
It is not in my body!

In her eyes I seem a sinner
Thinner… my mind grows as I
Explode, untold stories in my mind
I wish to release and live in peace

Why am I misunderstood?
Why not finish what could
Have started, bombarded I feel!
I must reveal, not conceal, for what is real

“Keep the peace,” I repeat, as I weep
Unable to say what is on my mind?
In time, I sit and rhyme to unwind
What has crossed the line
To “keep the peace” and a sane state of mind.
