Resurfacing the Pool of Recollection

Resurfacing the Pool of Recollection

A Chapter by Salix_Alba

Cast away many I've lost in this lake
the many ignored but never forgotten
They remain beyond the surface
Deep within they reside waiting

From my grief to my troubles
to dreams that could not be saved
Worthless they would be
had I chosen to neglect

The middle, unfathomable, darkest awaits
soothing, the deep blue how it calls
None would dare to swim it
your shallow grave would become

I not alike to others, no fear
swim these treacherous waters
each time memories clasp
in the frightening recollection

The water tows me under
in currents past dripped from my face
No escaping, I've succumbed to
swallow all that must be remembered

Further it's taken the discipline
what once had to my name
Vines fasten to cold flesh
with all might-attempt to grasp my breath

Allowance, acceptance, no refusal
disagreement-No longer suns to behold
Clenched lessens, released from my snares
Resurfacing the Pool of Recollection

Beholden by precious air, life
laps break-waves crest-halcyon compunction
Beyond shadow of doubt, dauntless
at liberty to pursue my desires

Freed from the quandary
trapped by doubting obscure shanghaiers
lucent columns graze the ever-moving
ridging orb of light reveling as lacerations

About
Just a child at heart trying to stumble without much more injury through this life as much as possible. Over the years, I've realized that Neosporin does not heal every wound. But it sure hurts lik.. more..
