aka 'the détente'

translucent morning eternity

warmed by the steam from my coffee cup

no deception left in lazy smiles and bunny slippers

where else can peace be found

except in pancakes and birdsong?

oh, absolutely indeed. this is transcendent - i think we are at our best in early morning, when possibility exists and when the veil that falls upon us all, all day long, rips a bit and lets us see a little past it. i love that the sentiment of peace and rest translates into a very brief poem -- that does an additional symbolic justice to the simplicity of the moment and the fine details of the peaceful feelings it suggests.

A serene scene indeed. Nicely crafted from everyday objects.

As you might have expected, I savor early morning. I love the title, the sentiment, the mood and the exquisite allure of simple, concise eloquence.

Nice word-use and imagery. The first line is a cracker.

This is like a little space of life within another life - a life quite different from the one described, yet lived by the same person..

Aha a Rhyme, and not even going to reveal where. In this very delightful morsel I locate it... should be some mystery, in life. Other than to hint, as all your work seem to live... in Rhythms, quirky closet.

I like the quiet mornings. Poem is kind and simple. Coffee, pancakes and the singing of the birds. Nothing better. You said it all in so few words. A excellent poem.
