Analogy: Seasons and emotions

Analogy: Seasons and emotions

A Story by Serenedy
"

It compares our emotions and the seasons

"
Someone once told me that the good times we have and the bad times we have are like the seasons.
When we're happy it feels like summer time; you can smell all the backyard barbeques' smokey flavor. Your best friend and his dad are teaching you how to play baseball. You're older brother is listening to his favoie song: "The boys of summer." Everyone listens intensely to your grandpa's old war stories. Your sister is having a contest to see who can jump the most with a jump rope. The sun is shining and everyone's having a good time.

In the winter, everyone's hearts are frozen as cold as the ice on the side walk. You look outside only to see that the snow just keeps piling up. Everyone is as harsh and bitter as the piercing cold wind in the middle of a snow storm. You think these are the worst times in your life. You say to yourself, "Summer is never going to get here!! :( Then, all of the sudden the numbers on the weather channel start to change; just about 10 degrees every week. Now the sun comes out. You almost forgot what the sun even looked like! It's now 50 degrees outside. Y
ou go out and play catch with your dog.

If the person that's reading this story is ever in the winter mode and thinks they'll never be happy again, just remember....

Spring is coming!
:O{) -- YAY!

Another good reminder that "This too shall pass". Good poem, tone and flow. Barbara

I can't believe I'm reviewing my own writing; well, I gess I am my own worst critic. If there's anyone reading this review, go click on the little picture in the lefthand corner of my poem. Its a picture of a guy staning in the middle of a railroad track. He's under this roof thing/ bridge and the sign on the roof says, "Safety First." Wich is pretty ironic considering the fact that there is somone standing right in the middle of a railroad track. So yeah, click on it and check it out. You might get a kick out of it.
