Phantom calls

Phantom calls

A Poem by Shady
"

About how I can't stop thinking of my girlfriend and how I always see her shadow and hear her voice but It's phantom because she broke up with me.

"
I can see you through these walls,
Meanwhile I hear your phantom calls.
You can always see yourself in my eyeballs.
And even when I'm at the verge of death,
I keep saying your name till I lose my breath,
I only need to see you to be relieved of stress.

To be so consumed by someone, with feelings for them, ideas, memories, hopes, day-dreams . . . you really capture that longing in a real and human way.

"You can always see yourself in my eyeballs."

I loved the sheer directness of this line, it was pure and honest, not contrived in the least. This was a short but potent little piece. I really liked it, nicely done!

As a side note, just a suggestion, don't reveal the meaning of the poem in the description under the title, in my opinion it takes away from the reading experience and reduces the possible depth of the poem. Typically a related word or two or perhaps some necessary context would be appropriate, but if you tell us what it's all about before we read it, we lose some interest in the mystery of the piece. But that's just what I think, you do you:)
