Her eyes shining with fear.

I wonder...if she were human

would she be in tears?

 

She wimpers and shakes

She keeps eyeing the door

As if she wants to escape

 

I reach out, she flinches in fear

Then I know without a doubt

There's something wrong here

 

This small dog that shivers and crys

Has been abused so much

She has almost died

 

But her pain has come to an end

She will never feel sorrow again

Because I will be her best friend
