A Weight On My Chest

A Weight On My Chest

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

A poem.

"

I have a walrus
sitting on my chest,
its tusks digging into
my hips
and its tail flopping
far out of
reach.
Its weight presses
on my throat
and my tears get trapped
inside.
I want to scream
but I can't
and I can't lift this weight
off my chest.

I took me such a long time to remember how to spell weight... I'm ashamed of myself.

Great ! The best poem I have read for a long time, very original. And don`t worry about the spelling. I `m supposed to be a poet and have to check a lot...

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. :)
It is no surprise we forget such simple things as spelling when we have such weghts on our chests and minds too. Hope the walrus goes home soon and lets you brethe freely once more.

I wish there was a single moment in my life that summed up who I am. Just a short snippet of time that I could copy and paste here so I didn't have to rack my mind for something to say. But I kind of .. more..
