Hoping

Hoping

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

I sit here, staring into the sun...

"
I sit here,
Staring into the sun,
On that park bench,
That holds so many memories
Thinking,
Remembering,
Hoping
I trace the markings,
Engraved in the wood,
"R + B" framed with a heart,
Dug deep into the surface
Longing,
Wishing,
Hoping
I brood over that day,
Recalling every detail,
Remembering each element,
Every thought, every feeling
Admitting,
Accepting,
Hoping

It's amazing what sitting in the park can do to get your poetry senses tingling. Try it sometime.

This is beautiful. Sad, yet captivatingly beautiful. The sense of loss is overwhelming, but the determination to remain hopeful despite that is what makes this such a bittersweet, but empowering poem. You've brilliantly captured both feelings... well done! It's truly rare to come by such a mix of emotions... is this something from personal experience? If so, well done for moving on!

Beautiful. Fitting all that emotion into such a short piece is a talent.
