La Creazione di Adamo

La Creazione di Adamo

A Poem by Shuvam De Biswas
"

poetic transformation of the philosophy behind Michelangelo's famous painting "The Creation of Adam" in the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, Vatican City.

"
God created life,
so he chose to start with death.
perfected the human body,
lay dead, in front of Him.
soulless, senseless eyes.
the human, Adam- so he was called.
God's newest creation-
He appreciated it,
He stared at His own reflection.
stretched out one hand,
so did the soulless puppet.
hands close,
if any closer, it'll lead to a spark.

who knew whether those fingers touched ?
who knew if the spark was ever caused ?
beholding God's knowledge and power,
let the human Adam live.
he rose up as God's true image.
the spark was true, the touch was realized.
man in his mind got his God idealized.
