Glory

Turn my glory into shame.

The foolish will not stand in my sight,

but I’m standing in their shooting range.

I sin and I’m very weary with my groaning.

All the night, I make my bed to swim.

But I water my couch with my tears.

My heart and soul are consumed because of

grief,

fear,

and

love.

All of this makes me up.

Asking:

Please save me from all those that persecute and deliver me.

If not,

allow them to tear my soul like a lion.

Rending it pieces, while there is none to deliver.

If I had done this,

if there be iniquity in my hands,

if I had rewarded evil unto those that are at peace with me, 

then yes,

I have delivered them without a cause as my enemy.

Allow my enemy to persecute my soul and take it whole if I can’t be forgiven.

Let them tread down my life upon the earth and lay my honor in the dust.

The Lord will come to judge the people.

To judge me according to my integrity inside of me.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end.

Preparing myself with the instruments of death.

Making a pit that I have dug and then falling into the ditch which I have made.

My mischief shall return upon my own head and my violent dealings shall come down upon my own pate…

If the thief on the right (or is it the left - can't really recall) of Jesus on Golgotha - had had more time and inclination then he might have penned/spoke this Sin. Its an admittance of being human and whats more is its a human with extreme self-awareness and insight.

Its the rawness I believe inside us that is glory to God. Our trueness of heart. Forgiveness of others and self that we can also be forgiven and bask in the freedom. But wo to those who refuse.
My heart is torn for those I know that judge and hate. They truly don't see.

Could sense the smell of justice emanating from the words. Perspectives vary so much. What's glory in thine eyes can be shame in mine. There was this line, 'But I water the couch with my tears' quite touching, the way it has been put. There's much here that's to be read between the lines. Skilfully done.

So hard to let go of the anger, grudge when we have been hurt...it is easier than the effort and work you need to put in to forgive ! But you are only human and this is natural my friend.

Hating someone or something is easy and doesn't take much effort; although, I see it as wasted energy, but there was a time in my life where it consumed me. It comes with not being able to forgive and judging so much.
Loving and maintaining it it takes work and hate not so much....
