My body has scars,

But my skin is soft.

I take care of mine

Without my mind

Because it’s lost.

I follow my soul,

No hate for the devil…

Only hope!

I’m so sure of what not to do,

But not so sure of what to…

No false promises.

Just forgiveness.

People surrounding me are expecting greatness,

But honestly they don’t understand me,

So I supply them with a brutal silence.

So use to running away,

But so sick and tired of being this way…

Wow. This is really beautifully written. The line about supplying them with brutal silence really resonated with me. It reminded me of a line from a favorite song of mine; "Sometimes quiet is violent"

Honest and true my friend. It is not really good to be silent (just saying :) you need to speak and explain so they will understand! :D

I know it's not. I also know its healthy to find that balance of knowing when to keep you mouth shut and speaking my mind. And the people/ variables that I deal with play a huge part.
It just really annoys me when people ask me of my opinion, but get angry with what I think...like wtf!? hehe

The weight of expectations can be crushing. I think others who "see greatness" need to see it to gain hope for the future. So you are someones hope, but that too is incredibly weighty when you are young. I think being fully understood is a very rare thing. There are only a handful of people in a lifetime that do and we hold them as close as we can, for as long as we are able.
No one in this life really knows exactly what to do. We bumble along hoping we find what we need and avoid the things we know or think could be detrimental. Even those with a plan are going on the faith that life will not throw her curve balls as she so often does. A good heart and Soul are always the best bets in to my mind.
