Good Daughter

Good Daughter

A Poem by Enigma
"

Onee sad poem. Most of you won't like my idea...

"

She yells at me

And I hate her more

She nags at me

And I hate her more

She's over-protective

And I hate her more

She's way too defensive

And I hate her more

She doesn't understand

And I hate her more

She always has an evil plan

And I hate her more...

I forget to wish her 'Happy mother's Day'

And I hate myself more

My true feelings, I could never say

And I hate myself more

I always shout back at her

And I hate myself more

I always disobey her

And I hate myself more...

She's always hard on the outside

Maybe on the inside she's softer

And I cry my helplessness out

Coz' I know..

I can never be her 'good' daughter...

I know what you mean sometimes.... Sometimes you can't be that perfect child... trust me no one can be that perfect child... I will never be veiwed as that perfect child because i have peircings and tattoos.... peircings no one can see unless.... okay sorry... but in our imperfections we can achieve more in my opinion... This was good, i actually liked the repetition in it... Don't try to achieve the good daughter... achieve yourself and then you will be the good daughter....

It's good that you have learned to vent through your work. One of the reasons I write is because it is so therapudic. Keep up the good work. Even though your so young it seems that you have a solid base in your art and thats an important key to keep going.

Thank you! As a mother with a teenage daughter, I really appreciated your view of this relationship. I often feel that I can't do right for doing wrong and I expect she feels much the same!

Beautifully expressed and well written - I can feel that passion and uncertainty. :)

=O I feel the exact same way about my mom zomg. I love her, but she's really.... bitcy 90% of the time. The other 10% she's ragging on me at how good of a daughter i am and how i never yell back at her... >> eyeah... Good poem. Great poem! FANTASTIC POEM! This helped to make my day :) Good job with this, and I shall read more of your writing.

Venting and purging!!! We all need to do that in times of frustration...I can identify, what is it with mothers and daughters??? I had a chuckle at this Siya, I know it is serious, but it is also a bold piece of writing...

I hope you shared this with you mother. Even without knowing her (or you for that matter) I am sure it will recall in her her own feelings at 16. It seems that most mothers and daughters deal with the issues you write about around the same time. Besides, she needs to see the talent you have. Mothers do want to be proud and your writing will allow her that for sure.

I don't hate this at all ! I've been there too, as the youngest daughter of 9 children myself, it's hard to find my place in my mothers heart and thoughts, even at my age it's a struggle to not feel frustration with my mum and myself for that frustration and bad thoughts. You love her, you hate her... but mums are always open hearted. FEEL your feelings and let them out, then put them away... there's no guilt in genuine, honest feelings, just be true to yourself and learn to forgive each other. I don't mean to preach but you seem like your struggling. I still struggle everyday.. Good luck to you Siya

I think you have a good heart, because if you didn't, these feelings wouldn't torment you so.

Such a powerful message. Your true feelings really show.
I believe it helps to write down your feelings on paper when your
angry or sad. Thanks for sharing this with us.
