One moment of freedom

One moment of freedom

A Poem by Enigma
"

First hand experience in second hand freedom.

"

If I were to die tomorrow…

I would walk down the busy street

In my favorite child-like fashion

Not strut but skip

Not bend but flip

I’d walk like I’ve never walked down the busy street

I would stare each stranger in the eye

With a bright smile on my face

I won’t care if they think me daft

For eye contact is such a craft

I’ll gladly hug them and walk my way

You’d see me skipping like a little girl

Muddy slippers and a flowy frock

My hair at the mercy of the wind

Oh so gentle

Oh so ticklish

You’ll hear me giggle

With or without a reason

Whirl around on the stage

Dance without knowing the steps

Feel the freedom gushing through my being

You will see me

Finding the oddest sight ever

But then, you will truly enjoy

When you live that sensation through me

First hand experience at second hand freedom

And trust me,

You will tap your fingers to my silent beat

Soon enough, my friend.

Soon enough.

When I will be gone

This memory of a day will stay

In millions of unknown hearts

I would sail through the dewy clouds

Knowing and content

In leaving behind a mark

Be it a day

Be it a whole life.

A moment of utter freedom

Is all it takes

To leave behind the unwritten message

“I was here.”

Another breach into a world of new topics. The line I have put up in the description is something that struck me while (yes, it true), playing grand theft auto: liberty city. The pre-recorded radio-jockey said the lines "..first hand experience in second hand love..". I loved this line. (can you love a line?)
So anyway, how was the poem? :)

I love this. I think it best to live as many days as possible this way, because truly do not know when the end will come. I love the idea of connecting positively with everyone you meet. Beautiful!

I love how it shows what we can do if we enjoyed life and don't care if we get embarassed. true freedom, if not for a moment. Well written. J'adore.

This write shines in every line. It spreads a special energy, a real vivacity, even though it speaks of passing. I see this also as a great metaphor, for all people to better enjoy the good moments in life, and to adopt a much more positive attitude in their approach to others.
Easily to picture this happily smiling girl. A pleasure to read.

I loved this.....to live a single day attaching oneself emotionally and lovingly to other's minds and hearts. It would be wonderful to be that open and fearless each day :) and it is something to aspire to I think. I'm smiling at your GTA reference below....as the mom to two boys I am fluent (well almost) in gamer-ology...and yes I find inspiration in all kinds of places too....thank you for sharing a part of you with us..looking forward to reading more.

Well done! This poem is beautiful and cheery, despite the whole "one more night to live" sentiment in it. Instead of it being sad and mournful, it's so wonderfully positive and hopeful! And it's true, if I had one more day to live, i'd want to make my mark on the world before I had to leave it.

I really enjoyed reading this :) My one criticism might be the font - it's a little hard to read, and though I see it might fit with the theme of the poem, it is also a bit distracting. This is just me being picky, though, so don't worry 'bout it :P
