A New Story

I want to find happiness,

but I cannot be happy,

she is furious, she is mad that I am able to forgive him,

she doesn't want me to let him go unpunished,

and she constantly blames him for where I ended up,

every mistake and every flaw, she blames him,

but I am beginning to doubt her, and I realize now that she is afraid,

using him as an excuse, I want to forget and I want to heal,

but she can't and won't forget,

I hate the person she has become,
always hiding from the rest of the world,

I know why she holds such strong hatred against him,

she is a small child, a frighten one,

one that is so afraid of betrayal that she cannot trust anyone,

when she was supposed to be a normal kid,

she was faced with abuse throughout her whole ruined childhood,

she was left to cry herself to sleep at night,
wondering if she was a bad person for still loving him even though he has hurt her badly,

constantly she is afraid to go to what awaits at home,

and no one even spared a care in the world for her,

and the mother she thought would always be on her side ignored her cries,

that child's only comfort is me,
it has been long now, but still, she tells it to me,
whispering of how I am the only one that will always be there,
and she tells me of her pains and her pleads,

she still holds raging grudges within me,
but I am tired of hearing the same sad story over and over,
I want to hear a new one, one that is filled with love and happiness...

I love stories that have happy endings, but it's always sad when you hear a story and it doesn't have an happy ending, everyone should have a happy ending once in a while.
