In Stillness-Standing 3

In Stillness-Standing 3

A Chapter by Becca
"

# 3 in a series of my Soul's Journey

"

December’s exuberance mounted

brother’s firstborn baby due

Lovely blessings counted

for a pseudo sister soon

The call to honorable duty

upon me was arranged

No lack of hesitation

“Desirae” shall be her name

Glacial echoes broke night’s stillness

awakening by my mother’s cries

She had our newborn baby

Oh No! Oh… Desirae has died.

Family hid and locked the door

behind their woe and gloom

Forgot to let me say "Goodbye"

to sweet spirit sister moon

You may not cast to humankind

what has been hurled at you

Alight upon their festered wounds

“I AM”s Love Eternal shall imbue

I am a Woman-Still

Standing in the Gift of Selflessness

Gift received- Age 6

Gift received, in the midst of tragedy, do you always recognize them? That is a wonderful ability to have, not many people can do it... including me.

"Standing in the gift of selflessness"... ahh, that's a gift? I carry mine around like a basket of dirty laundry... wait.... that is a basket of dirty laundry. I misplaced my selflessness, I know it's here somewhere...

I am trying to be funny, it's probably the wrong reaction to the next beautiful segment of your journey. People tend to say too much, when they're not sure what to say... ... ... (thinkin) ... sometimes I will say nothing at all, because I am afraid to say the wrong thing. Ever feel that way?

I suppose one is never too old to learn how to glean the gifts from life's lessons... like that word... glean (sorry bout this it's 4:40 in the a.m.).... let's define glean, not because I think you don't know it... (puh-leeze...) but because I am weird that way. I love to see the official MW def of my favorite words. Gives new depth to them, a different understanding if you will (even if you won't)...

GLEAN:
1 a: to pick up after a reaper b: to strip (as a field) of the leavings of reapers
2 a: to gather (as information) bit by bit b: to pick over in search of relevant material
3: find out

Does that make me a cheater? You have already done the work... learned the lesson... you see the gifts in tragic loss or circumstances, I mostly bemoan the loss and circumstances.

I really like this Bec, gift received... Age 44.

I feel the tragic loss. I just lost a grandbaby this year and this rushed home to my heart when I read this. Well written.

I'm sorry Becca, I can feel the loss and the gift of a lesson learned. I was nine when I was given the gift of my youngest sister to raise. A pseudo daughter rather than a pseudo sister and the loss of my "daughter" when I moved out five years later still haunts me, but the lessons learned still bless me as well. I'm having a hard time typing right now as my eyes keep leaking. You've touched a bruise on my heart with this one.
