The City

The City

A Poem by John Dennis Gillespie

How dare you not find beauty in the city?
The city walks with a melodious sway similar to the dance of a ballet.
The city never sleeps;
and if it did it's dreams would sparkles throughout the horizon.
The city slickers are storytellers;
writing stories with their footsteps, and each breath, that continues to breathe life into the cities' lights.
The city slickers are diamonds;
Diamonds that shine for decades and when they no longer live,
they past their shine to their children who grow to become diamonds as well.
So the city shines and shines and shines.
How dare you not find beauty in the a city . . . so pretty?
