Oliver

Oliver

A Chapter by Spencer

Today was a crappy day. As always I showered and went to see my older brother and his wife. He moved out a while ago, once he did decide to move out it was just myself and my two dogs, moving one, I stayed for a while then got stuck in traffic on the way to get coffee for myself before I went home. I did in fact not get coffee, it was closed for “Unforeseen circumstances' ' I knew it was a load when I saw the manager there. She seemingly hated me. I saw her little laugh as I drove off into more traffic. Once I did get home, I showered again, getting the smell of mud, children, beer and cats off my clothes. Jackson is the oldest out of five siblings, myself included. I, sadly, am the youngest of the five, Jackson is twenty-seven and I’m eighteen, not much space in between our ages. Our other siblings, my sisters are triplets,

I laid in bed and thought to myself then finally, after a silent battle with myself I finally decided to sign up for an app my older brother found. It was an odd app, like Instagram, a profile was needed to sign up, an email and all that other stuff. I rolled over on his stomach and pulled my phone in front of me. So I’m taking the advice and signing up for the app.

Once I was fully sure that was everything I had pressed the small done button and continued to read ahead. When the site fully loaded in, I was bombarded with notifications and things of that nature. I blinked a few times and opened the notifications and read them quickly, skipping through the notifications and going to look around the site. I noticed profiles among profiles and within a few minutes I had gotten a few messages.

NEW MESSAGE" Valentina E: Hi Oliver!

Oliver: Hello Valentina :)

Valentina: Why is ur weight “unnecessary”?

Oliver: Well of course, I don’t see the point in letting strangers know my weight.

Valentina: Well can I know?

Block.

I was underweight for his age, with the stress of work and taking care of Jackson’s kids, I didn’t have the time for eating properly, I wake up, shower, get dressed, brush my hair and put socks on, sometimes forgetting my shoes and headed out of the apartment complex I live in, this was an everyday thing. My older brother, Jackson, told me I needed to stop coming to visit every day, with seemingly no social life, Jackson had suggested I make a profile on an app, Forever Mate.
I honestly didn’t see the apel in it now, more so because a girl commented/asked about my weight but I continued scrolling through the profiles, getting more and more messages like the girl from before stumbling across a very interesting profile, I clicked on it and glanced over the profile photo, he likes Mario, interesting, I thought to I before reading over the profile.

I hovered my finger over the message button, when I was about to press the button, a message from Liam had popped up. I didn’t notice but I smiled to myself and opened the message

Liam T: Hey Matthew

Oliver B: Hello Alexander :)

Liam: So, How are you?

Oliver: Good and yourself?

And I knew this guy was going to make my night so much better.
