Mud and Nostalgia

Mud and Nostalgia

A Poem by Sujash I. Purna

Another, From The Heavens type...

Indigo rains greet
An already-sodden steep street
Down the homes of sleeping strangers,
Blissfully with a cup of tea,
Beside their windows.

Mud and nostalgia
Roll around the pavements;
Hand in hand- they walk and dance.
Peaceful mimicry of past joys

Of past, in the sweat of their armpits
Mud and nostalgia
With indigo rains to join...

India...nice. Good work. Slightly crude. My compliments.

Short, but quick to be visual. A beautiful glimps to see the dripping streets.
"Indigo rains"-- lovely.

I enjoyed the poem. Memories are gold with age. Good to look back when mud and nostalgia was a big part of life. I like the good places you took me with your words. Thank you for the excellent poem.

wow this is my favorite poem you did so far. You feel like you are littererly in the poem walking around outside on the streets and looking in people's windows. It' amazing :O

Ooh, you know this reminded me of my time spent in Northern England, where one may find a lovely cup of tea. The indigo rains gives the whole poem, ironically, an umbrella in which the words you have written are lovingly protected and given resonance.
