Color

A Poem by Sunshine Kid

It must be nice
Living in that
Polka-dotted world
She’s created.
Some believe
For her defense
Others say
For her sanity
But I know
And he knows
It’s to match
Her outlook
Her naivety
Her idealistic
Nature.
Dancing in
The moonlight
As she turns
It to
Sunlight
And the
Soil becomes
Lush
Handsome
Grass.
And as she
Giggles
The birds chirp
Misunderstanding
And believing
It to be
Day
(Since she’s
Proclaimed it
So)
And they sing to
Her
Giving her
Their praise
Thanking her
For the everlasting
Sunlight and
Splendor.
And as she blinks
Her rainbow
Eyes
She sees
Everyone
And
Everything
As they are
And should be:
In Technicolor.
A new spot
Of magnificent color
Spreads
And
Bleeds
All across
Her world
As she steps
Skips
Leaps
Runs
Through her
Forrest
Of radiance
And
Glory.
And as she
Smiles
Everyone’s world
Blends with hers
Just for that
One
Moment
And that,
My friend,
Is how it
Begins.
