Dangerous

Dangerous

A Poem by Sunshine Kid

A mind
Is a dangerous thing
To behold.
Always
Rushing
Darting
Screaming
Analyzing
Crying
Smiling
Fading
Jumping
Scrutinizing
Crazed and
Dazed
Forever
And
Ever.
“Peace of
Mind”
How silly
An oxymoron
Not possible.
He who can
Conquer
Peace of mind
Is without
Mind to peace
(Or something
Along
Those
Lines)
Love
Oh love
The heart
Another tough
Beholder
Pumping
Beating
Loving
Savoring
Misleading
Without sight
Always
Without sight
But exquisite
Divine
Perfect in
Every way
Just as the creature
It keeps
Alive.
It’s personalized
To fit
The job
Weighted
Like a
Club
Drilled
Like a
Ball
Fitted
Like a
Perfect
Ballet shoe
For the delicate
Lithe
Aesthetically pleasing
Ballerina.
So pretty
She dances
Across the stage
The world
With a heart
Beating just
For her
And the spectator
The tall
Quiet man
Up front
Mesmerized
By her ever-beating
Heart
As it matches his.
Eyes locking
Unafraid
Of the
Inevitable
Tumbling awkwardly
Into a dance of
Their own
On their own
Stage
World
Life
Until the music
Ends
And they are stuck
With no audience
No orchestra
No conductor
Just them.
They read
Their minds
They feel
Their hearts.
They walk away
For a mind
Is a dangerous thing
To behold
Especially
When the heart
Beats in its
Own
Tempo.
