A Lonely Wind

A Lonely Wind

A Poem by Roger Turgeon
"

A poem about the loss of a loved one

"

A LONELY WIND

A lonely wind blows leaves upon your grave

Said my goodbyes and now I’m acting brave

But deep inside the emptiness remains

Still hidden as yesterday’s teardrop stains

A lonely wind gusts through my open coat

Words never said still stuck inside my throat

Silently I turn and amble away

Poems to you will wait until I pray

A lonely wind greets me at the front door

Because you won’t meet me there any more

Memories flood into my hollow mind

Remembering is not that often kind

A lonely wind seeps through curtains drawn tight

And finds me in the darkness of the night

I can’t escape secluded in my room

Why won’t the wind carry away this gloom?

A lonely wind offers what I can’t see

And settles on the pillow next to me

Upon the spot you used to lay your head

Your outline still visible on the bed

'A Lonely Wind'
Roger Turgeon,
This place within where we live holds our real selves.
So much of who we are may or may not be seen
to ourselves or others but the reality
of any time or experience reveals eventually.
Beautifully real is:
" A lonely wind gusts through my open coat
Words never said still stuck inside my throat
Silently I turn and amble away
Poems to you will wait until I pray"
A very real expression of process within loss.
It was beautiful in its reality of even in loss we remember
and have the privilege of remembering and knowing love came here..
to us.
Blessings,
Kathy

So damn perfect .. so dead on........

Very unique stuff here on a beaten path.... but you have brought something new to the table. Congratulations Roger!
This is outstanding, even above your own works which is high caliber poetry.

And to think this was inspired by a Bob Dylan song titled "Idiot Wind"

I won't go there... best leave it
what a heartbreakingly beautiful write, Roger... I am glad I read your Author"s note for I do tend to read most poetry as being personal emotional bleeds, something I should realize isn't always the case. This is so touching and called to me by it's title... the lonely wind seems to circle at times. I am awed by how delicately you captured the void left by a parting of a loved one....very real and sentimental write, well done!

Great write, poem succeeded in portraying the emptiness and pain left by the loss of loved ones, same time expresses the desire to remove the sadness caused by it, many can relate to this poem
