A Poem by Zach Gordano

I will get you back

Like the love for you has me at a loss of words,
So does the pain I'm feeling at this time.
Sharp aches tingle my spine, my sides.
I can't eat, I can't sleep without you.
All these cheesy love poems,
I'm hoping that you'll read.
But now it's just my sanity.
The sooner you come back to me,
The internal bleeding will cease.
Because I'm truly lost without you.

Not to say that I can't get by,
I just need you by my side.
Take the weights now off your shoulder
You can let me ride
With you.
With you.

Tears dried up like a raisin in the sun,
Bitter and shriveled,
Like my heart now in the present.
But what pumps my blood and gives me life,
Can and will be repaired.
Not now, not then, but when you are no longer scared.
Please don't try and rush it,
We made that mistake once before.
You don't have to close it, just please crack the door.
I'll come in when you're ready,
To make things even better
We won't fall into the same trap once again.

I promise things now different.
Even though I'll miss it.
New ways for new days,
Just promise me you'll stay,
With me.
