Black Hole

Black Hole

A Poem by Zach Gordano

You are the star that shines brighter
Than any object in the universe.
From the beginning of time,
I have never seen such spectacular beauty.
I look at your elegance today,
But see billions of light years into the past
To the beginning of our time.
A time when we were together,
Growing, learning, living, loving.
Moving through the universe at the highest speeds possible,
Illuminating the many worlds surrounding us.
Skipping galaxy, throughout galaxy,
Nothing could ever break us.
But the light that loves is the light that blinds.
You have nurtured me for too long,
And time is nothing but a mere speck of infinity.

I thought my light showed you the way,
But I have been in the shadow of your darkness for too long.
And just like that we collapsed.
You pulled me in so far,
That my light could no longer radiate
To the depths of any point in the universe,
Except inside of you,
Where I cannot escape,
And I will not escape.
But somewhere within the remnants of your illumination,
Your black hole heart contains me,
My love for you,
And your true love for me.
And you will continue to fuel the flame for my brightness
Until the gears of time stop turning.
But time is nothing but a mere speck of infinity.
And I love you...
Infinitely.
