The Port

The Port

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

By the sea tree roots seep
sand gravel travels
shores feet explores
half moon
sea creatures fight food
dangle an angle
strangers string friends
something of looks to cook
trophy showcase
everglades waging
stroll the dock
forget the clock
where ships dock
containers
free trade made
import/export
embargo cargo
ship ahoy!

I'm there, Roxane! Ideal, vivid imagery that transports the reader to the shore. Another very good piece from you.

wouldn't change a thing ..life at the docks .. a snapshot yet big as life ... reminds me of Cannery Row somehow ... i like the style of you "voice" Roxane ... my cup of tea

i have visited Boston...what a great place ...
This could be Britain begging to the E.U. for a trade deal. But all life happens in the port.
