                           The Reality of Life

As a child is born he is innocent and angelic. He repeats what you say and follows what you do. His sweet little acts are a source of joy for the whole family. This is undoubtedly the most cheerful stage of life. As he grows up he learns a lot of things, while most of them are productive others aren’t. He is shown a lot of paths in front of him and has to decide which one to follow. He follows one, then another and quickly realizes that his life is not going in the right direction. This is not what he always wanted to do. He gets depressed and hopeless. He spends most of his life in this misery. Things get very tough for him. He doesn’t know where to go, who to look up to. It is only when he gets old that he realizes the true meaning of life. Perhaps it was the innocence, the purity that was missing throughout his adulthood. He indulged into things which were materialistic, virtual and unrighteous. This is the reason why one goes back into his childhood as he gets old. But by that time it is too late. If only he could go back in time and undo his wrong deeds. Thus it is necessary that we start giving importance to the basic principles of life and stay away from the worldly desires so that we won’t have to contrite for our deeds when we get old and feeble.

Hi Talal, I think you are a natural, you write brilliantly and I could not detect any grammatical errors. Keep writing, this is a solid effort, I thoroughly engaged with your perceptions of this young boy's development and your philosophical stance was mature and enhanced the piece greatly, Well done.

Philosophy for dummies that could well include that in old age we learn to forgive ourselves. I liked this. In its simplicity and brevity, it conveys the spectrum of a life and was well done. Thank you for this one.

This is an awesome write Talal, and I totally agree with you. Our children (meaning all children) need to become aware that our ways of over-consuming and hoarding no longer serve us and will in fact (my belief) lead to our inevitable demise unless there is radical change. Our "More" based economy and our growing mistrust of ours niehbors has separated us and made us weak. We are more likely to compete with our niebhors over who has the nicest cars or most toys rather to reach out a hand to those in need. It doesn't help that we are bombarded daily with messages that frighten us more and more, while at the same time we are told the latest gadget or whatever will fulfill us. Is this not a recipe for mass insanity? Sorry, I'm ranting now!
An excellent theme Talal, one that needs more exposure in all forms of media. If this is where your heart is, then please, keep developing, expanding and writing about it. Thank you!

Nicely written. Its often late when we realize that we alone travel in our journey against life. No parents, no companions. But, we don't seem to understand that in the right way possible. One doesn't need to apologize for those worldly acts he has done as you said, if he concentrates upon the feeling " I " he gets. Just think " I "....and concentrate upon that feel, you'l realize that it's 'you!' inside your body. And it' changes the course of the journey.

Thanks Bro...
I can relate to this in many ways. However, some people do not reach this stage until they are lying on their death beds. I think people should know that decisions they make reflect parts of them that are living within. I know a lot of people who make immature decisions and do not understand that it is easier to abstain from such behaviors than they think.

A discernment between what is life and what constitutes the play for understanding it, is important. When pointing at the moon we must not mistake our finger for the moon. Such a dedication to its cause is a rare gift in a young man.
