A Poet, My LoveA Poem by Lady DecafJust a poem about a boy...
I'm very cautious about my heart and protective of my love,
For my heart was given to a guy who now protects me from Above, But then he walked into my life and for once I was caught off-guard, He made me smile and eased into a heart that once had been so hard, And before my head could scream at me...I told him how I felt, How for the first time in forever I felt my heart was free as its iron cage began to melt, And by some act of some unseen force...he felt the same for me, And we started treading in dark waters to see what we could be, Yes the waters started crystal clear that echoes the beauty of his eyes, But soon they turned a stormy grey as we were swept to opposing sides, We'd fight like hell...and fight about nothing....and the sea grew rougher then, Finaly we decided we swam better apart...and I was left with my scars open. I lived my life in a daze for a while... and tried to forget his cocky smile, Everyone re-assured me, "you'll forget him in a while", But my heart could not forget him and my mind could not release, All the little words of love and the way we used to tease, I told myself he had moved on and tried to do the same, So I leaned on a friend who became my fresh start, But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't give him my heart, It still belonged to another...my poet laurete lover, And though I was trying to recover, I saw him everywhere, In the moon at night...behind me as I did my hair, When he walked back into my life, I opened my heart's door wide, I begged him to come and rest his troubled mind inside, And once again we waded into familiar waters, But this time we knew the waves...and our love was our charter, We fall a bit deeper each day...forgetting our troubled past, We found our happily ever after...a love we can make last, He my second Chance...and I his muse, I found a reason to love again...and gave my heart to the one my love could not refuse. © 2013 Lady DecafReviews
