I See You

I See You

A Poem by The Exiled Wolf
"

I saw you coming from afar, and now I see you.

"

Roaming in the barrens of despair alone

Hiding behind my façade, unknown

Can someone reach me?

Can someone revive my vitality?

Yea, I see you coming closer

Step by step, with your starry luster

The warmth dawns on my heart

Its icy shell falls apart

This paradise’s perfection

Reminds me of the illusions

Deep down below the ecstasy

Lays the fear for jeopardy

Too many had vowed their loyalty

But they finally dissolved into treachery

Please…promise me the love is not ephemeral

Friendship is not about transaction and betrayal

And…the guilt lurking in your eyes…is…unreal

There is so much trust and uncertainty in this poem regarding love and loyalty. It is hard to trust (especially in this modern day) because people lose sight of what is right. Deceit destroys not only friendship, but the strong connects between souls, and the restoration is never the same. Yet, if we are willing to put faith in those who show their loyalty, we can actually become stronger. Yes, there is the lingering thought of "Maybe... Just maybe, they will betray me", but we cannot live our lives in fear. It will only strip us of the beautiful offerings of life, such as a chance at love or meaningful relationships. Wonderful job!

i have not trusted people all my life so i know what that feel like but at the same time i have no idea what you are going through but i know that feeling of wanting the need to be accepted and the paranoia that it is all some ploy just another way to betray me hurt me some more fill my eyes with more scars and bury me deep in the dirt but still we clamor to that hand like it will bring us out of the dark muck sticking to us not letting go all the while picturing them plotting and dunking our heads in the murk to drown what little breath we have left and bleed all the light we could possibly contain a only for it too start again wondering if we hindered all our relationships in life with that thinking or if they truly just wanted to be near us just to hurt us and make us feel more worthless just like others did unable to faith in anything even your self sincerity feel like a made up construct a way of pushing a hidden intent upon us your poems speak to me so clearly they may not be your words or intentions but the mirror it feels so real i can't help but feel it as anything but.

You're welcome.
Trust is always hard; the only person I truly trust is myself, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.(I have the burns to prove it)

Nice work either way; stay strong...

Isn't that the question of the day hmmm.
There is so much truth in these words. We all search for someone who will understand for who we really are. There is a yearning in this poem and at the same time the fear of being hurt again. Very well put. Beautiful piece!!!
