Stranded

Stranded

A Poem by Mark Daniels

I feel like I'm alone,
on this cold, deserted island.
Because all my friends and family
had left and said goodbye.

Now i'm on my own,
left to just sit here and think.
To think my whole life over,
and to smooth out all the little kinks.

I spend my days,
writing my notes in the soft, golden sand.
I wish could redraw my hand in this game,
the game of life.

Won't someone please remember me,
the lonely little poet?
Build to this island,
and forget hiding your feeling,
but show it.

But as for now,
I'm stranded here,
on this lonely little island,
Reminiscing about the good things i left behind.
