Abstract

Abstract

A Poem by Lydia

Splashes of paint

And strikes of lines

All have a deeper meaning

In someone's mind

Scribbles are all that

Some may see

But others see a masterpiece

It makes them feel free

Some use neons

To give a brightening effect

Others use dark colors

On dismal things they reflect

If you look closer

You might see what they do

A feeling so vividly expressed

It might make an artist out of you

I really enjoyed this poem! You put a puzzle in the first two verses and answer in the last two verses.

This is great! I really love it. The rhythm and flow is fantastic - you almost forget it rhymes at all, because it sounds so natural and unforced. I'm not a big fan of art - mainly because it's one thing I just cannot master - but my younger brother is a great artist and I can certainly appreciate a fine piece when I see one.
This, in itself, is a fine work of art. :)

Wow this had a brilliant rhythm, each part tells its own story, good job. I like art, but I mainly draw - not paint. I terrible at it though, but I still enjoy it!

I'm a personal fan of abstract painting and work, and this poem is so completley true! The poem, while an amazing poem, fits within catagories of poems and you may want to work a little and play around with the wording and format to make it alone a little more abstract and unusual. I love the subject and it is very beautiful as it, nice flow and rhyme. Great job!

I love the rhythm and rhyme in this piece. I wonder what would happen if you made it even more verbally economical by cutting some of the simple modifiers like "that" and "the" out wherever possible. Play with it. Otherwise, the voice, subject, and playful execution of this piece is extremely well done.

Love it.

I understand what you mean as I have been an art major in middle school for 3 years . I find that your art is never truly finished davinci is a prime example of that. When it comes down to meaning though paintings drawings art always evokes somthing different in a person no matter how much they may say the work sucks. Nice write :)

I like this poem. I myself paint and many don't really understand my paintings. Although, to me, it feels like there is something missing after free. It feels like you left that unfinished...

True. Art, poetry and music are personal. Personal to the creator and the viewer, listener or reader. That is something that makes all of it simply fantastic. I was taught by my poetic mentor to treat the art/music/poetry of others as if it were my own.......this is wonderful. :)
