Dear Fool

Dear Fool

A Poem by TheOther

You are wickedly beautiful,
yet strangely demonic.
You posses an outworldly charm,
captivating, utterly irresistible.

You deceive and manipulate.

Twist and play.

Your eyes, hide lies.

Your heart's painted by the darkest colours

Hypocricy and self delusion.

Endless braging and profanity.

Pity, you are just as cold as the gold you represent.

You think you can buy everything, even love.

Stripped off your identity and dignity.

You are not your sport's car,

nor your fancy house,

nor your job of glamour.

Or those riches you have frantically hold on to, dear.

You've sold your soul

and lost yourself along the way.

All in the name of fame and success.

This is not happiness,

 its just your curse.

The shine of your fortune has blinded you.

Your vanity has taken over you.

And I know how you pretend.

I know you better than anyone.

Even if you are lost, I can find you.

Even if you are the fool, I can save you.

I can show you everything,

I can give you anything,

the things that you've been missing.

The things you could have never bought.

Those, you would have never sought...

This makes me think of the callous nature of men we sometimes love. We see and feel the plaguing effects, and yet we still believe we will turn it around, we will fix him, no matter what venomous words or actions he throws our way. Wonderfully conveyed disturbing thought.

I really like the story in this poem.
My favorite lines-
"Pick your poison wisely,
just this second you decide.
In this coal black night,
one of us is meant to die."

Wonderful imagery here. Great job!
