(The Parlour) Intoxicated with Life

(The Parlour) Intoxicated with Life

A Poem by John Holmes

Don't you feel it
the Thunder in your mind
The Howling wind in
your soul
you just can't help
but dance
to a tune
you know not
but
by the Devil
it feels right
you should Sing in
the trees
Swim in the
Somme
Why don't you kiss
a stranger?
With Drums in your heart
sending mailed knights
to a far flung heaven
Don't you feel
it?
the call of the Earth
and by gone ages?
Don't you just want to feel
the desert sand in your hair?
As surly do you taste
the temptation of my Lips
You panic and threat
I am meek
I am weak
Nervermore!
You're Iron and Bone
your blood is the fire of Stars
as surly as your eyes are my temptation
you're life and you're in my veins
