Crying For Me

Crying For Me

A Poem by SmileBig :)

I hear the rain pounding on the rooftops
And the windows
And I hear it against the drenched deck,
And I grin like a 5 year old on Christmas day!
I get completely soaked
From head to toe and I smile,
I laugh like a crazy person,
And then I cry my eyes out with complete joy!
The silly things nature does.
The silly things I can laugh at; the things that make my day.
Cause this is Gods creation
Remember how He made it rain for 40 days and nights?
And only the ones he chose survived?
The old testament.
See, no one knows why God does anything,
But the fun is not knowing.
Why does it rain? Why does it storm?
Why do people lose their homes from destruction?
No one knows, but..you have to enjoy the beauty of nature.
The rain.
The lightning that lights the sky in yellow bolts.
The thunder that sounds like a stomach growling
Or an angry monster.
The wind blowing so fast, a tree might fall over.
The sound it makes when the leaves rustle with the wind.
Or the flower pedals blowing all around.
There is beauty in everything.
Beauty in rain.
Beauty in storm.
Beauty in the worst life you could ever have.
And beauty in Heaven.
When it rains, God is crying
For the people who struggle
When it thunders,
God is angry at the people who make the wrong choices.
And when lightning hits close by,
That's His sign to people
That shows eveyone to try a little harder,
Because eventually...
The storm will stop. And the sun will shine.
And the thunder won't come again.
And the sadness will end.

Aww thanks so much :)
There is a lot to ponder in this piece, a lot go back to. You make many great points upon life. It is not so often that people enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature and the incredible awesomeness it can display. You have created that well in your writing with amazing imagery.
The beginning of the piece, I like your choice of words -
"And I hear it against the drenched deck,
And I grin like a 5 year old on Christmas day!
I get completely soaked
From head to toe and I smile,
I laugh like a crazy person
There is such innocence in this, which is great, because we all need to go back there, and it goes along with your theme of enjoying the simpler things in life. But I also like how this starts out, because as the piece goes on, it really goes into more deeper and somewhat darker hard hitting thoughts. The things we need to ponder - why does it rain, thunder and so on, God is telling us something... Then once again it ends on an innocent note - which again is perfect. Great write! This will be in my head for a while. Thank you!

lol it deffinitly is. and thank you :)
Okay, I think this is my ultimate favorite poem of yours Missy! Wow, it's truly amazing and I was interested throughout the whole piece. I do remember how he made it rain for 40 days. I'm glad that you admire the small creations that God made. Some people take it forgranted. Rain is a beautiful thing to me, and afterwards most of the time there's a rainbow to stare at too! Haha. I like how you said
"When it rains, God is crying
For the people who struggle
When it thunders,
God is angry at the people who make the wrong choices." Those lines really speak to me and now when it storms I'll see it from this perspective. This is definitely going into my library! :D
